Assoc. Prof. Ehud Zamir

Dr Ehud Zamir specialises in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory eye diseases (uveitis, scleritis and related condition) as well as general ophthalmology, medical retina, cataract surgery, and ocular immunology. 

About Ehud Zamir

After completing his MD degree at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, Dr Zamir trained in ophthalmology at the Hadassah-Hebrew University Hospital. He became a specialist ophthalmologist in 1998. He then trained for two more years at the Doheny Eye Institute, Los Angeles, and did a fellowship in uveitis and ophthalmic pathology. His clinical work there involved management of uveitis, scleritis and AIDS-related ocular diseases. He published both research and clinical work in this field. Dr Zamir ran the Uveitis Clinic at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, Jerusalem from 2001-2003.

Ehud moved to Australia in 2003 and was admitted as a Fellow of the Australia New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. He has been practising ophthalmology in Melbourne, and has been on the Senior Medical Staff of the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital as a consultant ophthalmologist in the Ocular Immunology Clinic. He has also served as the RANZCO Director of Clinical Training for Victoria from 2004 to 2010. He is involved in the surgical and medical teaching in ophthalmology, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is a clinical Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne School of Medicine. A list of his scientific publications is available here.
