Dr Bob Wang

A highly skilled cataract, glaucoma, and medical retina specialist. He is an experienced cataract surgeon, having performed over a thousand cataract surgeries. Manages glaucoma with medications, laser (iridotomy, iridoplasty, selective laser trabeculoplasty) and surgery (trabeculectomy, glaucoma drainage devices, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery). He also has expertise in the diagnosis and management (intravitreal injections, retinal lasers) of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vascular diseases.

About Bob Wang

After completing degrees in medicine and optometry, Bob undertook ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH). He subsequently completed a Fellowship in Medical Retina at Royal Free Hospital in London, United Kingdom. After returning to Melbourne, he completed a second Fellowship in Glaucoma at the RVEEH.

 

Bob has a strong interest in research. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentated his research at many national and international scientific conferences.

 

Bob holds public consultant appointments at the RVEEH, The Alfred Hospital and Monash Health. He has an active role in teaching and mentoring medical students and ophthalmology registrars.

 

Bob is approachable and personable. He prides himself on his problem-solving skills and commitment to finding the best individualised treatment for each patient.

 

He is also fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
